Day 9 - The Mother Centre

The Kadampa Temple at Manjushri KMC, UK, is a place of extraordinary beauty.

Home to the first Kadampa Temple for World Peace, this inspiring centre is home to a spiritual community of almost 100 people; young and old, lay and ordained, families and single people living harmoniously together and striving to put Buddha’s teachings into practise.

Visitors can take part in guided tours of the historic house and enjoy the Tharpa Bookshop, Kadampa Art Studio and Conservatory Café.

Following the pure example and profound teachings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the Founder of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union, the Manjushri KMC community exemplifies the Buddhist way of life through public service.

Heruka Empowerment

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso granted the empowerment of Buddha Heruka.

We began by recalling our wish to liberate all living beings permanently from suffering through the attainment of enlightenment and it was for this purpose that we received the empowerment of Heruka.

The empowerment placed special seeds on our field-like consciousness which will definitely ripen as spiritual results either in this life or future lives.

Through our imagination we can bring about pure results because everything starts in the mind. With a pure mind we will experience a pure world.

Quote of the day

Right now through believing and imagination we will accomplish spiritual developments.
