International Kadampa Buddhist Festivals 2008

The New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union

The Festival play

Saturday August 9

We celebrate the end of the Festival with a play based on the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.

All are welcome to join the cast or to help with production.

Come and enjoy the inspiration!

‘Every year we show this play. There is great meaning in doing this. For two weeks during the Summer Festival we listen to the teachings of Buddha, and then on the final day we physically show Buddha’s way of life.

‘This play shows samsara’s nature and how when Buddha was with ordinary beings he helped other people; and it shows the strength of his loving kindness and compassion.

It shows Buddha’s nature and function and how all his actions were compassionate and virtuous. For me it has such great meaning.’
