Registration will be from 09.30 – 12.30, 14.00 – 19.00 & 21.30 – 23.00 on Friday October 22. If you require supper on this day, please register before 17.00. Registration will also be open from 08.00 on Saturday October 23.  The Festival will end with lunch on Friday October 29. Please note: We regret that we are unable to provide accommodation before the night of Friday October 22, or after lunch on Friday October 29.

What to Bring

In general the weather will be quite warm – with average daily temperature around 76F (24C). The sun can be quite strong so it would be helpful to bring sunblock. Although not the rainy season, rain showers are possible, so you should also bring a waterproof jacket which may be more practical than an umbrella as KMC Brazil can experience some strong winds. If you are in a shared room, a dormitory, or camping you will need a sleeping bag.

Campers

Please come prepared! Check that your tent is waterproof and don't forget your karrimat (or similar ground insulation) torch, and sleeping bag. We regret we are unable to provide blankets or sleeping bags. Due to its elevated position, KMC Brazil can experience quite strong winds, therefore campers should also make sure that they have all the necessary equipment (pegs/guy lines) to secure their tent correctly – please check you have everything before you come. The average night time temperature is 57F (14C), however, you may find it helpful to have either a blanket or a warm sleeping bag for when it is windy. Please note, to comply with safety regulations, no naked flames of any kind (e.g. candles, gas cookers or gas lighting), or incense, are permitted anywhere on the campsites.

Cassette Players & Musical Instruments

The Festivals are a time of peace, quiet and reflection. It is for this reason that we ask you not to bring musical instruments or sound systems of any kind to the Festival.

Car Parking

We regret that we will be unable to provide car parking facilities at the Festival site except for disabled parking. Daily transport to and from off-site accommodation which is booked through the Festival will be provided (and is included in your Festival Fee). If you are coming to the Festival by car, or are hiring a car in Brazil, and are staying in the Festival off-site accommodation, there will be facilities to leave your car there.  If you are staying in off-site accommodation other than that arranged through the Festival, there will be a car parking area near the Festival site where you can leave your car.  Transport will be provided at specific times from the car parking area to the Festival site.  This car parking facility will be charged separately, and can be selected when you make your Festival booking.  There is no charge for disabled parking.

Please note that it is not possible to bring pets to the Festival.

Security

All participants will be required to wear a Festival Pass at all times – including at all Festival off-site accommodation. Please co-operate fully with this requirement for the sake of the safety and smooth running of the Festival. Please note that the Festival Management cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to personal items or cars parked on or off the property. Please bring essential items only and carry valuables with you.

Internet Access/Cell Phones

KMC Brazil: Both internet access and cell phone signals are very limited at the KMC site, therefore we are unable to provide public internet access. The local cell phone transmitter can only provide a signal for a certain number of phones, so in order to facilitate essential Festival communications, we request you to refrain from non-essential cell phone use whilst on-site.

Solar das Primaveras:  Wireless access is available in public areas. Cell phone signal should be ok.

Mosteiro de Itaici:  To be confirmed.

Please Note: Cell phone roaming charges can be quite high in Brazil, please check the relevant tarif with your network provider prior to travel.

Voluntary Work

The entire Festival is organised and run by volunteers. Therefore, we ask everyone attending the Festival to help with a small amount of voluntary work such as serving, clearing, dish-washing, cleaning, setting up, etc. You will have an opportunity to volunteer on the day of your arrival and throughout your stay.

Catering

Meals will be provided and can be booked with your Festival booking.  We strongly recommend this, as there will be extremely limited opportunities to purchase food otherwise.  For those staying in off-site accommodation, breakfast will be included in their accommodation fee.  Festival meals will then be charged for lunch and supper only.  If staying in on-site accommodation at KMC Brazil, Festival meals will be charged at a rate for 3 meals per day.
