Welcome to the 17th International Spring Festival of Kadampa Buddhism held at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in the English Lake District.

Each year hundreds of people from all corners of the globe gather at Manjushri KMC to receive teachings and empowerments from the senior Teachers of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT).

NKT is a modern Buddhist tradition founded by the contemporary Buddhist Teacher Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. Geshe Kelsang draws on the profound lineage he holds to present the path to liberation and enlightenment in ways that people of the modern world can easily understand and put into practice. The blessings and lineage of his teachings are relayed through the Teachers he has trained.

 

Liberating the mind

This year Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, the Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT, is granting the empowerment of the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri. This will be followed by a commentary to the practice during which Gen-la will explain how by relying upon Buddha Manjushri we can help ourselves and others develop a liberating wisdom that eradicates confusion and negativity from our minds and leads to an experience of lasting inner peace.
