NKT-IKBU Festival Diary 2013       Spring     Summer     Fall     Future

If we gradually extend the scope of our compassion, eventually we will develop spontaneous compassion for all living beings.

Day 2

It couldn't get much better

Festival goers woke to a glorious Spring day, which just got better and better.

In the morning there were two inspiring meditation sessions guided by Kadam Bridget Heyes, the NKT National Spiritual Director for the UK.

Then time for lunch, relaxation, and invigorating walks through the woods to the beach - and plenty time to catch up with friends and discuss the teachings and meditations with people from all over the world.

Then everyone gathered in the Kadampa Temple to receive the empowerment of Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara from Gen-la Kunsang - a powerful blessing to open our heart of compassion to reach out to all suffering beings throughout the world.

After the evening meal, which many took outside in the warm evening sun, we gathered once again in the Temple for the sublime practice of Offering to the Spiritual Guide. To be part of an international spiritual family chanting prayers and requests to their Spiritual Guide made for a perfect end to a perfect day.

And there’s still much more to come!
