Day 7
Kelsang Muni has been a Buddhist nun since 2005. She is the resident
teacher at Drolma Centre, San Cristobal, Mexico.
Hi everybody!
This is Kelsang Muni from Mexico who would like to share her personal experience about one day at the beautiful yearly Summer Spiritual Festival at the Kadampa International Buddhist Mother Centre.
After having engaged in a two day meditation retreat lead by Gen-la Khyenrab, who did a great job, I woke up this morning with a peaceful, joyful mind. Why is this? Because this is the purpose of meditation-to make our mind happy.
I also woke up with a mind of gratitude to my Guru, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, realizing he is the source of all these wonderful conditions for our spiritual practice.
It is great to meet so many Kadampa spiritual friends from all over the world who, to the best of their ability, are joyfully trying to put Buddha’s teachings into practice. It is so meaningful to see everybody doing their best to receive blessings, applying effort to
practise Dharma and receiving help from Sangha. Everybody is working wherever they are needed thinking, “I want to accumulate merit, I want to purify my mind, I want to benefit others, I want to repay my Guru’s kindness.”
We all love and admire Geshe-la and pray to become like him. It is wonderful to see what the result of putting holy Dharma into practice can be. I sincerely hope one day everybody in this planet can benefit from Kadam Dharma which is, as Venerable Geshe-la says, “a golden mala which everybody would like to have.” Everybody needs methods to solve temporarily their human problems, and to enable them to find pure and everlasting happiness through controlling their anger, attachment,
jealousy and ignorance.
Today is our ‘free day’ which means we have free time to do what we wish and there is only one scheduled event. Some people choose to go to the nearby town for shopping, some took a tour to the lakes, others went for a walk in the forest, but the majority of us stayed to attend the Dharma protector’s long beautiful chanted prayer puja. Why?
Because we love our Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden! We understand there is nothing better to do than to receive our Guru’s blessings and accumulate positive energy.
A lot more Kadampas are arriving today from different parts of the world because of the Heruka and Vajrayogini empowerments next week.
I cordially invite everybody to come and experience a spiritual holiday with us.
Love you all,
Muni
