Welcome to the 20th NKT International Summer Festival

The annual NKT International Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC is the highlight of the year for Kadampas all over the world. It is a time when thousands of people gather from all corners of the globe to enjoy the blessings of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s teachings as presented by the General and Deputy Spiritual Directors of NKT.

Something for everyone

With the Summer Festival now in its 20th year, once again there is something for everyone on offer, with courses for complete beginners through to experienced practitioners.

In the first week, Gen-la Kelsang Kunsang, the Deputy Spiritual Director of NKT, teaches Kadam Lamrim, the essential teachings of Kadampa Buddhism, and in the second week Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of NKT, grants empowerments and commentary on the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Heruka and Vajrayogini.

For those not attending the Highest Yoga Tantra course in week two there is an alternative course on a Happy and Meaningful Life.

Meaningful vacation

With the accompanying meditations, reviews, discussions and retreats – not to mention walks and outings in the magnificent English Lake District – the festival promises to be a rewarding and meaningful vacation for everyone who attends.

Above all it is a testament to the great kindness of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso that so many people can enjoy his profound lineage of teachings and blessings through the Teachers he has trained to carry this wonderful tradition forward.
