Families are very welcome at the Festivals, however, to ensure their welfare and safety of our young attendees some special conditions apply.
Once a young person is 16 years of age they are classed as an adult for Festival attendance purposes.
Festival Fees & Accommodation:
Discounts apply to children’s bookings, and some special conditions apply. Please see Spring Festival Fees for details.
Passes: Festivals are large scale events on an open site, and the care and safety of children remains at all times the responsibility of their nominated carers. To help ensure the safety of your child, and so that they can be easily reunited with their carers in case of difficulties arising, children’s passes will display photographs and names of two responsible adult carers. To make a valid booking for a child, two adult carers must be nominated and passport sized photographs submitted.
We are unable to confirm your child’s booking, until we have received the necessary photographs. You are welcome to email digital photographs or send passport size photographs in the post. Children’s passes will be prepared by Festival Registration prior to your arrival.
Teachings: We regret that children under 3 are not allowed in the Temple during teachings, including reviews and meditation sessions. Any children who do attend teachings are not permitted to play electronic games. Children of all ages are welcome to attend puja.
During teachings, reviews and meditation sessions, we provide a video link in a comfortable quiet area reserved for carers with children. Stewarding will be provided in this area. If you are a parent with young children and would like to volunteer to help with Stewarding this area please contact [email protected].
Children’s Activities: A programme of volunteer led children’s activities is offered each day with a great selection of art and craft activities, games, drama, sing songs, and sporting activities for your children to enjoy. The Children’s Tent will run during 2nd sitting of lunch and supper each day (families are all dining during 1st sitting). There is also a dedicated space for supervised ball games and active play.
