Children and young adults are welcome to attend the Festival, however for their safety and wellbeing some special conditions apply.

Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by two nominated responsible adult caregivers over the age of 18.  Those who are aged 16 and 17 years must be accompanied by an adult over 18.  You will be asked to provide the names of the responsible adult caregivers/accompanying adult at the point of booking, and will be unable to complete the booking  without it.

Festivals are public events and the care and safety of children and young adults remains at all times the responsibility of their nominated responsible adult caregivers/accompanying adult. NKT-IKBU and the Festival Organisers, for insurance purposes, cannot take responsibility for children and young adults.

Festival Fees & Accommodation:

Discounts apply to under 16’s bookings.  Please see Summer Festival Fees for details.  More information about available accommodation for children can be found on the Accommodation page.

Under 16s who are camping, must sleep in the same tent as at least one of their nominated responsible adult caregivers. Under 16s who are sharing a tent are free of charge, there is a charge of £2/day for breakfast.

You must be 18 years or over to stay in shared room or dormitory accommodation. 16 & 17 year olds may stay in twin accommodation if their accompanying adult is also sharing the room.

Passes:

To help ensure the safety of your child, and so that they can be easily reunited with their caregivers in case of difficulties arising, under 16's passes will display photographs and names of their two nominated responsible adult caregivers. Under 16s bookings can only be confirmed when photographs have been received. Because these passes are prepared in advance, you must provide these prior to your arrival.

All under 18s are required to wear wristbands.

Teachings:

We regret that children under 3 years are not allowed in the Temple or Marquee extensions during empowerments, teachings and meditation sessions. Any children who do attend teachings are not permitted to play electronic games. Children of all ages are welcome to attend puja.

During empowerments, teachings and meditation sessions, we provide a video link in a comfortable quiet area reserved for caregivers and children.

Stewarding will be provided in this area. If you are a parent with young children and would like to volunteer to help with stewarding, please contact kids@kadampafestivals.org.

Family Activities: It is intended to offer a programme of family activities during the breaktimes. All children participating must be accompanied by at least one of their nominated responsible adult caregivers at all times.

Children (of all ages) must be under adult supervision at all times.
