The Fall Festival was inaugurated by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who envisioned an annual festival that would be held in various countries throughout the world to celebrate the flourishing of Kadam Dharma internationally.

Forty-one years ago, the world-renowned Buddhist meditation master and scholar Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche accepted an invitation to come to the West to teach Buddhist meditation to people living in today’s busy world.
With profound personal experience of Buddha’s teachings and remarkable insight into the needs of contemporary society he introduced the practices of modern Buddhism, from extremely practical methods to solve our human problems and find happiness in our daily life to sublime meditations that lead to the attainment of enlightenment through the practice of Mahamudra.
Over the last 41 years, besides giving thousands of teachings and granting all the essential Tantric empowerments Venerable Geshe-la, as he is affectionately known, has worked tirelessly to make the practices of modern Buddhism available to people throughout the world, creating a global infrastructure to support their growth and development both now and in the future.
Through his selfless dedication this humble monk has touched the hearts of countless people around the world and helped them to discover a blissful journey to lasting happiness and inner peace.
