The Teaching

How does Samsara develop?

On the last day of the teachings, Venerable Geshe-la gave a commentary to the essential meaning of the Essence of Wisdom Sutra – also known as the Heart Sutra. The Heart Sutra reveals the essence of wisdom, or the perfection of wisdom. The perfection of wisdom is a wisdom that realizes emptiness directly, motivated by the compassionate mind of Bodhichitta.

Quote of the Day

Thus I have heard. At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling in Rajagriha, on Massed Vultures Mountain, together with a vast assembly of monks and vast assembly of Bodhisattvas. At that time, the Blessed One was absorbed in the concentration of the countless aspects of phenomena called, ‘Profound Illumination’

A Meaningful Holiday

C’est mon deuxième festival et je suis trés enthousiaste. Les enseignements sont trés clairs – un grande bonté pour nous.
-Nathalie, France

It was great to have Geshe-la our spiritual guide in our country and to welcome people throughout the world. It’s an honour for us.
-Emmanuel, France

Festival Facts

During the Festival a Kids Program was offered in a nearby marquee. Parents were able to listen to the teachings while their children took part in activities – which included making a large Buddha Shakyamuni thangkha as an offering to Venerable Geshe-la. A Dharma for Kids class was also offered every morning with meditation and with a review of Geshe-la’s teaching of the day before.
