The Teaching

Self-Generation

Just as an architect designs a home in his mind before he builds the home, in the same way we can learn to create a pure society through engaging in the self-generation practice of Prajnaparamita. Through imagination and wisdom, we can create in our mind the pure body, speech and mind, and pure environment of Arya Prajnaparamita.

Quote of the Day

Training in self-generation is the quick method to transform our self into an enlightened being. For the effectiveness of this training we need to understand that our self that we normally see actually does not exist. If we believe that our self that we normally see actually exists then it is impossible to generate our self as an enlightened being because an enlightened being is a non-sentient being and we our self is a sentient being. One person cannot be both a sentient being and a non-sentient being. Therefore to generate our self as an enlightened Buddha such as Great Mother Prajnaparamita first we should know clearly that our self that we normally see does not exist.

A Meaningful Holiday

Geshe-la gives me lots of chances to try different things – for example, emptiness teachings at Disneyland! But Geshe-la gives me many chances to do things I never think to do, and he gives me chances to do things I never think I can do. This is great. This is what Geshe-la gives me.
