The Teaching

Supreme Liberation – the Enlightened World

The second day of the Festival began with a meditation led by Gen Eupamé, NKT National Spiritual Director of France. In the late morning, Gen-la Khyenrab, NKT Deputy Spiritual Director, reviewed Venerable Geshe-la’s teaching from the previous day. In the afternoon, Geshe-la granted the blessing empowerment of Prajnaparamita; a female Buddha who is the manifestation of Buddha’s perfection of wisdom.

Prajnaparamita’s function is to overcome outer and inner obstructions and to bestow the realization of the higher perfection of wisdom which is the union of great bliss and emptiness that gives us the attainment of enlightenment in this short life.

Quote of the day

Buddhist faith principally is faith in Buddha Shakyamuni and Buddhist aim is the attainment of permanent liberation from suffering for all living beings. To accomplish this aim we need to follow the Buddhist path which is the path of compassion – that is compassion for all living beings – and the path of wisdom – that is the wisdom that realizes all things that we normally see do not exist. These two paths, the path of compassion and path of wisdom, are like the two wings of a bird through which we can fly to supreme liberation, the enlightened world.
