Festival venue

KMC Spain was born out of Venerable Geshe-la's wish for to establish a Mother Center for Kadampa Buddhism in Spain and is home to the sixth Kadampa Temple for World Peace. It  It is set in 2.5 hectares of land with its own olive and citrus fruit plantation, and is located at the foot of Sierra de las Nieves - Mountain Range of the Snows.

Twenty years ago it was just a rural two star hotel with fifteen rooms. It now has three residential buildings with nearly fifty rooms, prepared to welcome a large number of visitors and participants to retreats and events. In recent years, growth has continued with the acquisition of new land, increasing the center's capacity to organize larger international events.

It is also the home of Tharpa Editorial Spain and, recently, a Kadampa art studio.

There is much to explore and enjoy in the surrounding area, including wonderful beaches and mountains, as well as charming villages and towns.

Just 30 minutes drive from the Festival site is the ancient city of Málaga: the birthplace of Pablo Picasso and gateway to the Costa del Sol. In this city steeped in history you will find ancient buildings, galleries, great shopping, every type of cafe and restaurant - and of course its own beach.
