NKT-IKBU Festival Diary 2013       Spring     Summer     Fall     Future

A mind that wishes to protect all living beings from suffering is great compassion.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Universal Compassion

Day 3

Reaching out to others

Another glorious sunny day at the Festival!

After the morning meditation, Festival goers enjoyed two teachings from Gen-la Kunsang, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Gen-la Kunsang is explaining the practice of Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara - how we can develop our natural mind of compassion and gradually transform it into a spontaneous wish to help all living beings become free from suffering.

With this powerful motivation we can accomplish all spiritual realizations and eventually attain the compassion of an enlightened being - which actually has the power to protect living beings from suffering.

The impact of these teachings is palpable throughout the Festival site - where everyone is trying sincerely to cherish everyone else - and to do so with a cheerful and happy mind.

To spend even a few days in such a gathering is to catch a glimpse of how world peace is possible!
