Travel information

By air: The nearest international airport is Manchester, from where there is a direct train service to Ulverston. If you prefer to rent a car at the airport, it is approximately a two-hour drive to the centre. Other UK airports

By car: Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 and follow the signs to Barrow-in-Furness. In Ulverston, take the A5087 coast road to Bardsea. The centre is about 2 miles on the left.

By train: The nearest train station is Ulverston, a ten-minute taxi drive or forty-minute walk from the centre. A regular train service operates between Lancaster and Barrow, with all trains stopping at Ulverston. There also a few trains direct from Manchester airport. By bus: National Express runs a coach service to Kendal from London Victoria. From Kendal take the X35 link bus to Ulverston, for which a ‘free sale pass’ is available for National Express users. This link bus is not available on Sundays.

By taxi: Local taxis from Ulverston to Conishead Priory take around ten minutes.
