By air

The nearest airport is Manchester International (MAN) approximately 2 hours by road or rail. Manchester Airport is one of the busiest airports in the UK outside of London with direct flights from many destinations worldwide.  The railway and bus station within Manchester Airport offers accessible transport links throughout the UK.

London airports are also easily accessible (London is approximately 3 hours by train).

Airport Shuttle

Airport shuttles are offered between Manchester Airport and Manjushri KMC at the start and end of the Festival. Due to ongoing rail workers strikes, we strongly encourage those arriving into Manchester Airport to book these shuttles. So that we can reserve the necessary buses, please book early to avoid disappointment.

By train

The nearest railway station is located in Ulverston and is 2 miles from Manjushri KMC. There are many direct trains to and from Manchester Airport, as well as regular trains to Lancaster for rail connections to the rest of the UK. Train timetables and journey planners are available from National Rail Enquiries.

**Note that there is currently a lot of disruption across the UK railway network, so please allow extra time for your journey**

Taxis
During Festivals, taxis regularly serve the route between Ulverston train station and Manjushri KMC.  If arriving for the Festival, it is possible that you will also be able to share a taxi with fellow Festival participants.

By road
Manjushri KMC is only  30 minutes from the M6 (Jct 36). Follow signs for A590 Barrow-in-Furness.

In Ulverston go straight on at the first roundabout, take the second left onto A5087, signed Bardsea, ‘Coastal route to Barrow’. Manjushri KMC is two miles on the left.
