Children at the Festivals

Children under 16 are welcome to attend the festival, but because of the nature and
scale of the event we ask for the following conditions to be observed:

Booking: In order for children to attend the Festival, two adult carers must be named. Children must be supervised at all times by one of these carers For safety and legal reasons we regret that unsupervised children cannot be allowed to remain at the Festival.

Passes: In case of difficulties arising, children’s passes will display photographs and names of their carers. Therefore, when booking children, you must send two passport photographs of each carer. Children’s passes will be prepared and laminated by Festival Registration prior to your arrival and given to the child when you register them.

Teachings: No children under 3 are allowed in the Temple (except during pujas). However, a video link will be provided for parents and children in the “Creperie” during Venerable Geshe-la’s teachings and the reviews.

Children’s Play Area: Only for Summer Festival a marquee will be provided and managed by the Dharma Parents group. This marquee will be placed in a Play Area adjacent to the Family Camping Area. There will be space here for supervised ball games and play. Please contact Tess Rigby at children@kadampafestivals.org if you would like to be part of the Dharma Parents group.

Accommodation: Children staying in single or double rooms with their parents are not eligible for the 50% discount if they are using a bed. Please contact Festival Registration for details. We regret we are unable to book children into shared accommodation. Children aged 3–15 years who are camping or nonresident are charged half price, and there is no charge for those under 3.
