Children & young adults
Children and young adults are welcome to attend the Festival, however for their safety and wellbeing some special conditions apply.
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by two nominated responsible adult carers over the age of 18. Those who are aged 16 and 17 year must be accompanied by an adult over 18. You will be asked to provide the names of the carers/accompanying adult at the point of booking, and will be unable to complete the booking without it.
Festivals are large-scale public events and the care and safety of children and young adults remains at all times the responsibility of their parents/nominated carers/accompanying adult. For insurance purposes, NKT-IKBU and the Festival Organisers cannot take responsibility for children and young adults.
Festival Fees & Accommodation:
Discounts apply to children’s bookings. Please see Fall Festival Fees for details. More information about available accommodation for children can be found on the Accommodation page.
Under 16s who are camping, must sleep in the same tent as their parent/legal guardian, nominated carer or an adult family member. Under 16s who are sharing a tent are free of charge, but must pay for breakfast.
You must be 18 years or over to stay in shared room or dormitory accommodation. Children and young adults under 18 years old may stay in twin accommodation if their nominated responsible adult caregiver is also sharing the room.
Teachings:
We regret that children under 3 are not allowed in the Temple or Marquee extensions during empowerment, teachings and meditation sessions. Any children who do attend teachings are not permitted to play electronic games. Children of all ages are welcome to attend puja.
During the empowerment, teachings and meditation sessions, we will provide a video link for carers with children.
Stewarding will be provided in this area. If you are a parent with young children and would like to volunteer to help with Stewarding this area please contact kids@kadampafestivals.org.
Family Activities:
It is intended to offer a programme of family activities during the break times. All children participating must be accompanied by at least one of their nominated responsible adult caregivers at all times.
Parents are reminded that children (of all ages) must be under adult supervision at all times.
