Fall Festival Schedule

22 – 29 October, 2010

Friday 22  The Festival will begin with a special Wishfulfilling Jewel puja with tsog offering, marking the Official Opening of the Kadampa Buddhist Temple at KMC Brazil with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
 
Saturday 23   Empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
 
Sunday 24 – Tuesday 26   Commentary to the practice of Je Tsongkhapa and blessing transmission of Modern Buddhism: The Path of Wisdom and Compassion with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
 
Wednesday 27 – Thursday  28  Guided Retreat with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab 
Friday 29  Festival Play (finishing approx. 1pm)  

Working Visits

Unfortunately, due to limited capacity for accommodation, catering and services before the Festival begins, there will be no pre-Festival working visit opportunities at KMC Brazil. 

Travel Info

KMC Brazil is located approximately 2 hours northwest of São Paulo and 1 hour east from Campinas.

Airports

The nearest international airports to KMC Brazil are São Paulo – Guarulhos International (GRU) (98 Km) and São Paulo-Viracopos (VCP) (52 Km). Many major European, Asian and American airlines offer flights to São Paulo (GRU). Flights are also available from some European and North American cities to São Paulo (VCP) with TAM Airlines.

Airport Transfers

Airport transfers will be arranged from Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) and can be booked along with your Festival booking.  Times are still to be confirmed, but will be available on the evening of October 21, and at various times throughout the day on October 22.  At the end of the Festival, airport transfers will be arranged from KMC Brazil to Guarulhos International Airport. 

Travel to KMC Brazil

By Bus

Regular buses run from Terminal 2 at Guarulhos International Airport to Sao Paulo Barra Funda Bus Terminal (cost BRL 31). From here, buses run to Jacare which is 5km from KMC BR (cost BRL 14). From here a taxi to KMC BR is approx. BRL 14.

By Taxi

From Guarulhos International Airport a taxi will cost approx. BRL 250. Taxis can be arranged from inside the airport . Prices are fixed and there is no need to book in advance – 500 cabs are available at the airport.

From Viracopos Airport a taxi will cost approx. BRL 140.
