The Festival experience

Sowing the seeds of a modern society based on world peace

Besides receiving clear, authentic teachings, empowerments and guided retreats and meditations at the Festival we will also have the great good fortune to gather virtually as an international spiritual family.

As Gen-la Dekyong, General Spiritual Director of NKT-IKBU, explains in the introductory Festival video, this great international gathering is extremely significant.

It is the basis of the International Kadampa Buddhist Union (IKBU) and the seed of a modern society based on world peace.

Indeed, the very reason Venerable Geshe-la introduced the International Festivals was because they function as the principal means by which this International Union is maintained and developed.

Every time we take part in an International Kadampa Festival we are sowing seeds for world peace in both this and future generations.
